| About Us |
Royale Takitumu is the result of a dream...This dream started back in 1974 not long after the International airport opened on Rarotonga. Bill traveled to Rarotonga with his father to visit his Cook Island relatives and learn more about his Cook Island heritage. Eventually after a long period of time the necessary land was acquired, and in 2000 the foundations of the dream started taking shape. In July of that same year Royale Takitumu opened to the public... and the dream became a reality. The architecture and layout of the villas is distinctly Colonial/Polynesian with Kikau (Coconut) fronds providing ambience and a traditional cooling effect and the exterior stucco replicating the earlier use of coral rocks for building. Our village Titikaveka is proud of its heritage and reputation for maintaining traditional family, moral and hospitality values, that means you are an honored guest here - NOT a tourist! The beach and lagoon here is pristine and we are doing all we can to keep it that way. You cooperation is appreciated. Please enjoy our village and get to know our people. They may be a little shy at first but you will make everlasting friendships amongst people of all ages who are neighbors. We are named after the district of "Takitumu" and as such we are a community complex. Our staff are locals and as our guests you become honorary members of the RoyaleTakitumu extended family. If Bill and Dale are not on site, their daughter Amber is there to welcome you and assist with any questions you may have. One of the most famous of the 7 Vaka (canoes) that sailed to New Zealand 1250 AD was the "Takitumu" and this spirit of enterprise and faith continues today throughout Royale Takitumu. We hope you decide to come and stay with us and look forward to welcoming you to our property, into our extended family and becoming part of the dream. Bill, Dale, Amber and the Royale Takitumu team. |
